THE RAINEYS

Wade and Kacey met in 2007 in Memphis, Tennessee while they were in physical therapy school at the UT Health Science Center. After graduating with their Doctorate of Physical Therapy degrees, they were married in December of 2011 and moved to Franklin, Tennessee. At their church in Franklin, God showed them a picture of “going” as a family was prayed over and sent out for overseas mission work. This is when God began to work on their hearts. Not long after, they moved their family to Hendersonville and joined Long Hollow Baptist Church where their passion for missions grew.

Through years of discipleship, the Raineys have learned, prayed, and prepared for a life of ministering to others cross-culturallly. Currently serving in San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic , with Daystar Baptist Missions, they utilize their 12+ years of experience as physical therapists to serve the people of the city and share the kindness and love of Christ.

Wade is the king of dad jokes and has an uncanny ability to name any song or artist from the ’90s. On the weekends, you can find him root root rooting for the Cubbies, the Memphis Grizzlies, or the University of Memphis Tigers, where he played college baseball.

Kacey is a multi-tasking Supermom who is fueled by coffee and chocolate and whose heart beats for the forgotten. She loves a good documentary, watching Alabama football, and talking about the Enneagram (she’s an 8, so you know her heart for justice runs deep.)

Mason is 11 years old and she loves so big! She has the kindest heart and is always helping to take care of her siblings and those around her. She loves reading, drawing, playing piano, and can’t wait to be a teacher one day.

Mills is 9 years old and our spunky, fearless middle child! She enjoys singing/performing, playing with friends, and making everyone laugh. She is also not afraid to enter into pain and joy with others -- her compassion knows no bounds.

Maddon is 7 years old and he is gentle, calculated, and always up for making new friends. This boy brings the perfect mix of calm and fun-loving energy to our family. He loves all things ninja, building with legos, and sports of all kinds.

“Living in the Dominican Republic is very different, but still good. I can’t wait for others to come visit and see our life here.”

Mason, Age 11
