JOIN THE MISSION

The Raineys live in San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic, where they are using their skills as physical therapists to serve and share the hope of Christ.

About the Dominican Republic

The Dominican Republic is the second-largest country in the Caribbean and the third most populous, with a total of 10.65 million people

The current average monthly income for a family of 3 in the Dominican Republic is $777

While healthcare facilities are available in most larger cities, many require cash payments before services or treatments will be provided. This is an insurmountable sum for many citizens, causing them to go without proper healthcare.

The Dominican Republic ranks 4th in the world in sex tourism and houses more than 25,000 children under the age of 18 who are involved in prostitution.

Our Mission

Physical Therapy

We will lock arms with the church and provide physical therapy as an extension of the gospel. By opening a clinic space in our church and providing mobile services as well, we hope to reach people in the community, bring them into the church, and provide an opportunity for healing in more ways than one.

Sports Outreach

In a country where baseball is king, we are using youth sports as an avenue for evangelism and discipleship. Discipleship within baseball academies and youth soccer and basketball leagues hosted by our home church will allow us to form relationships with players, coaches and their families.

Women’s Rescue Ministry

Mercy Workshop provides hope and healing for women in the Dominican Republic. Through Christ-driven support, jobs, educational opportunities, counseling, and crisis intervention, we are working to change the narrative for women and show them that Jesus is enough.

The Raineys

Originally from Hendersonville, Tennessee, the Raineys learned, prayed, and prepared for a life of ministering cross-culturallly for many years. After hearing God’s initial call to missions in 2013, He perfectly prepared them for where they are today. Currently serving in the Dominican Republic with Daystar Baptist Missions, they are using their love for sports and people, along with their 13+ years of experience as physical therapists , to serve and share the kindness and love of Christ.
